Role Overview

Watford ME is seeking an experienced Renewable Servicing Engineer to join our growing team, responsible for the servicing, maintenance, and fault-finding of air-to-water heat pump systems across residential and light commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities

Heat Pump Servicing & Maintenance

  • Planned servicing and preventative maintenance of air-to-water heat pumps (ASHPs)

  • Reactive fault-finding and repair of renewable heating systems

  • System performance checks and efficiency optimisation

  • Maintenance of associated equipment, including:

    • Buffer vessels

    • Hot water cylinders

    • Pumps, valves, and expansion vessels

    • Heat pump controls and thermostats

Fault Finding & Diagnostics

  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control faults

  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer documentation

  • Liaise with manufacturer technical support where required

Compliance & Reporting

  • Complete service reports, maintenance records, and compliance documentation

  • Ensure works comply with:

    • Manufacturer servicing requirements

    • Building Regulations and industry best practice

Client & Site Interaction

  • Communicate clearly with clients and occupants

  • Provide basic user guidance where required

  • Represent Watford ME professionally on site


Required Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience servicing air source / air-to-water heat pump systems

  • Strong understanding of low-temperature heating and hydronic systems

  • Electrical fault-finding skills (controls level)

  • Ability to work independently and manage workload

  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • F-Gas qualification (Cat 1 preferred)

  • Manufacturer training (Mitsubishi, Daikin, Samsung, Vaillant, NIBE, etc.)

  • Experience working on MCS-compliant systems

  • Domestic and light commercial renewable experience


Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating / Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

  • Heat Pump / Renewable Energy qualifications (highly desirable)
